I am Alexander von Humboldt Research Fellow at the University of Cologne and Assistant Professor in French at the University of Nottingham and specilaize in modern French literature, thought and visual culture, spanning the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. I have a particular interest in literary theory and cultural studies, as well as the history and theory of photography. Born in Germany, I studied in Mainz, Berlin, Paris and Edinburgh, and previously taught at the Univeristy of Edinburgh.
